Adjustments.
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Adjustment of the gap clearance (figures 1, 6).
Loosen screws (7) and adjust a max. gap clearance of
4 mm.
Tighten screws (7) again.
Adjusting the handle (figure 2).
The handle can be fastened in 3 different positions.
Loosen the handle.
Set the handle to your working position and retighten it.
Adjusting the belt tracking (figure 3).
Switch the machine on and check the belt tracking.
If the belt does not run centred, loosen screw (9) and
turn nut (10) using a spanner (size 10 mm) to the right or
left, as required.
Adjusting the working position of the drive motor
(figure 5).
Loosen the screw using a 6 mm Allen key and turn the
drive motor to the desired position.
The drive motor can be turned by 360°.
Replacing the grinding belt (figure 4).
Pivot lever (5) toward the right. The grinding belt is now
loose and can be removed.
Mount the new grinding belt. Pay attention that the arrow
directions on the inside of the grinding belt and the hous-
ing of the power tool correspond.
Pivot lever (5) toward the left and check if the grinding
belt is positioned centrally. Check the belt tracking regu-
larly.
Operating instructions.
Switching on and off.
The self-start lock prevents the belt grinder from auto-
matically restarting again, even after a brief interruption
of the power supply, e. g., from a pulled mains plug.
Switching on:
Push the On/Off switch forward.
Switching off:
Press the On/Off switch down.
Adjusting the Speed.
The speed range can be variably adjusted.
Turn the dial control between "1" for the lowest speed
and "6" for the highest speed.
Repair and customer service.
When working metal under extreme operat-
ing conditions, it is possible for conductive
dust to settle in the interior of the power tool.
The total insulation of the power tool can be impaired.
Blow out the interior of the power tool via the ventila-
tion slots frequently with dry and oil-free compressed air,
and connect a residual current device (RCD) on the line
side.
If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged, it must
be replaced by a specially prepared cord available through
the FEIN customer service centre.

found in the Internet at www.fein.com.

The warranty for the product is valid in accordance with
the legal regulations in the country where it is marketed.
In addition, FEIN also provides a guarantee in accordance
with the FEIN manufacturer's warranty declaration.

a part of the accessories described or shown in this
Instruction Manual.
