KV-29FS100/29FV300/34FS100/ 34FV250/38FV250 SAFETY CHECK-OUT Leakage Test After correcting the original service problem, perform the following The AC leakage from any exposed metal part to earth ground and from safety checks before releasing the set to the customer: all exposed metal parts to any exposed metal part having a return to chassis, must not exceed 0.5 mA (500 microamperes).
KV-29FS100/29FV300/34FS100/ 34FV250/38FV250 Self Diagnosis SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION Supported model The units in this manual contain a self-diagnostic function. If an error occurs, the STANDBY/TIMER LED will automatically begin to flash. The number of times the LED flashes translates to a probable source of the problem. A definition of the STANDBY/TIMER LED flash indicators is listed in the instruction manual for the user’s knowledge and reference.

KV-29FS100/29FV300/34FS100/ 34FV250/38FV250 Stopping the Standby/Timer LED Flash Turn off the power switch on the TV main unit or unplug the power cord from the outlet to stop the STANDBY/TIMER LAMP from flashing. Self-Diagnostic Screen Display For errors with symptoms such as “power sometimes shuts off” or “screen sometimes goes out” that cannot be confirmed, it is possible to bring up past occurrences of failure on the screen for confirmation.

KV-29FS100/29FV300/34FS100/ 34FV250/38FV250 +B overcurrent (OCP) Occurs when an overcurrent on the +B (135V) line is detected by pin 48 of IC001 (A Board). If the voltage of pin 48 of IC001 (A Board) is less than 1V when V.SYNC is more than seven verticals in a period, the unit will automatically turn off.
KV-29FS100/29FV300/34FS100/ 34FV250/38FV250 1-4. PICTURE TUBE REMOVAL WARNING: BEFORE REMOVING THE ANODE CAP High voltage remains in the CRT even after the power is disconnected. To avoid electric shock, Coated discharge CRT before attempting to remove the anode cap. Short between anode and CRT Earth coated earth ground strap.

PRINTING THE SERVICE MANUAL The PDF of this service manual is not designed to be printed from cover to cover. The pages vary in size, and must therefore be printed in sections based on page dimensions. NON-SCHEMATIC PAGES Data that does NOT INCLUDE schematic diagrams are formatted to 8.5 x 11 inches and can be printed on standard letter-size and/or A4-sized paper. SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS The schematic diagram pages are provided in two ways, full size and tiled.
