Step 1—Preparing the workstation Introduction This section describes how to prepare your workstation for NIC installation. Procedure: Preparing the workstation To prepare the workstation for component installation, use the following procedure. Procedure: Installing the NIC Table 2 Installing the NIC Step Action Release the PCI retainer levers by pressing them down, then out (1), as shown next. Remove the applicable PCI Express slot cover (2).

The reassembly process involves reinstalling the side access panel and restoring power to the workstation.
