    FaroArm User Guide January 2007 Figure 1-12 Single Point Certification FaroArm Accuracy The accuracy testing standard is the North American ASME or European ISO standard. The ANSI B89 describes accuracy as total bandwidth error. This bandwidth can apply to single-point repeatability, linear displacement accuracy, or volumetric performance.

Loss of a Degree of Freedom In a working volume of the FaroArm there can be a loss of a degree of freedom (natural rotation of transfer case).

The FaroArm is calibrated at FARO’s factory and should only need to be recalibrated after the unit has been subjected to a shock that removes surface material or causes bending. Periodical certifications tests should be completed to certify the FaroArm accuracy and repeatability.
