    It is forbidden to use the wheelchairs or parts of them in different ways from those described on this manual. 1.1 Description DIVA is an aluminium folding frame wheelchair. Other details are made with aluminium, steel alloys or composite materials, such as carbon fibre.

    2.5 Foot-rest positioning The DIVA wheelchair can be configured, depending on the model, with detachable or not detachable footrests. According to the limits of setup, the footplate can be either single (automatically lifted with the closing of the wheelchair), or both single and double, manually lifted.

Double pushrim single drive setup is made up by a wheel which, together with the normal pushrim, has a second smaller diameter pushrim. This second pushrim, through a connection shaft, allows the rotation to be transferred to the opposite wheel (without pushrim).

    7. Hinged back-rest Hinged back-rests are used to reduce the wheelchair back-rest height during transport operation. The mounting height of the joints may vary due to configuration choices. Hinged back-rest can be height adjusted as shown in Par.3.10. Hinged back-rest cannot be assembled with lateral supports nor stretched bar. In case of stair-lift use, the Hinged back-rest does not guarantee the safety of the user.

Warning to reduce the risks associated with misuse of the wheelchair Be careful not to wrap the tubes of the crossbar with the fingers to avoid being pinched between the frame and the crossbar. Do not use the brakes to slow down the speed of the wheelchair. They are designed only as parking devices. The arm-rests are not designed to lift the wheelchair.

    20. Maintenance, inspections and controls Weekly: Check the tyre pressure. Each tyre shows on the lateral bands the maximum pressure for which it is designed. A flat tyre affects the efficiency of brakes and the agility of the wheelchair. Check the efficiency of the quick release axle and if necessary proceed with the lubrication of axle and bushes. Check the tension of the back-rest upholstery to maintain a comfortable position.

    21. Cleaning instructions Cleaning and disinfection procedure have to be performed by qualified personnel. Use appropriate eye/facial protection and protective gloves, during cleaning and disinfection procedure. In case of contamination with blood or body fluids, the wheelchair has to be cleaned first and then disinfected as follows: Note: Most of the time it is convenient and more effective to remove the seat and back-rest upholstery from the frame before proceeding with the cleaning and disinfection of either the frame or the upholstery.
