Remove the handle as described under TC3000

3.
Remove the control and grip as described under
Grip Removal, page 46.
4.
Remove the gearbox locating screw then loosen
the four other screws denoted by arrows
in Figure
136.

5.
Remove the gearbox and shield assembly.
6. Remove
the drive shaft from the tube being careful
not to damage the splined ends of the shaft.
7.
Inspect the tube for excessive wear, bends or
excessive heat. Replace if necessary.
NOTE: If
it
is necessary to replace the tube, the
shaft
should also be closely inspected as
it
may
also require replacement.
Drive Tube Installation
1.
Mount the control and grip on the drive tube as
described under Grip Installation, page 47.
2.
Mount the engine on the drive tube as described
under Engine Installation on Drive Tube, page
45.
3.
Grease the splined ends of the drive shaft
to ensure
easy disassembly in the future. Lubricate the shaft
with motor oil, and install into the drive tube.
Approximately 2.5 cm
(1
inch) will extend beyond
the end of the drive tube once
it
is firmly seated.
4.
Mount the gearbox and shield assembly by first
removing the locating screw. Push the gearbox
and shield assembly onto the tube and visually
align the locating holes.
5.
Secure the gearbox and shield
by tightening the
four screws denoted by arrows in Figure 36.
6. Mount
the handle as described under TC3000
