Printer Part Names and Functions The name and function of each part is described below. Front View (1) PHS door Open to remove a paper jam from the transport unit or to clean inside the printer.

Color Adjustment adjusts the color hues to resemble the colors of the original. Select CX 350 Optimum (Photo) from Color Adjustment to print photographs of people and natural landscapes. Select CX 350 Optimum (Graphics) to print text, illustrations, or graphics.
How to Use the Printer Driver Adjusting Brightness The Brightness adjustment allows you to adjust the overall brightness level of an image if it is too dark or too bright. This adjustment changes the mid-range colors without affecting the darkest or brightest areas of the image. There are three settings.
How to Use the Printer Driver Adjusting Sharpness Adjust the sharpness of an image if you feel that the overall appearance of the print result is too fuzzy. You can adjust the sharpness of the image by dragging the slider through four settings, left to 0 or right to 3.

To print an original in one color, click the Single Color Setting checkbox on, and select the color to use. Please remember that cleaning consumes ink. Clean the printhead only when necessary. ● If normal cleaning does not solve the problem, then use the printhead deep cleaning. Deep Cleaning Display the Utility sheet in the Canon CX 350 Properties dialog box then click Cleaning.
Deep cleaning cannot be done during a print job or when an error is occurring. ● Deep cleaning consumes more ink than normal cleaning. Clean the printhead only when necessary. Display the Utility sheet in the Canon CX 350 Properties dialog box then click Deep Cleaning.

Printer Maintenance A confirmation dialog box appears. Click the Yes button. Deep cleaning begins. ● If deep cleaning fails to solve the problem, the printhead may require replacement, or there could be some other problem. Contact your local dealer or call the nearest Note service center.
The printhead adjustment cannot be done while the printer is printing or after an error has occurred. Display the Utility sheet in the Canon CX 350 Properties dialog box then click Printhead Position Adjustment. The Printhead Position Adjustment dialog box opens.

Look at the columns for each color A to E and determine which horizontal line of each column aligns with black scale marks, and check the number of the line.

Printer Maintenance Remove the empty ink cartridge. At the lower edge, press the lever down and slowly pull the ink cartridge to remove it. Remove the new ink cartridge from its package.

Printer Maintenance Pull a paper tag and remove it to peel off the tape. ● When you replace an ink cartridge, always pull the paper tag and peel off the tape and then install the cartridge in the printer. If you set the ink cartridge without peeling off the tape, this could damage the printhead.

Printer Maintenance Put the empty cartridge into a plastic bag and seal it. ● Handle the empty cartridge carefully when you place it into the plastic bag to prevent staining your clothing or the work area, then discard the bag and cartridge in accordance with local laws and regulations regarding the disposal of such items.
Printer Maintenance Resetting the Ink Level Warning Display If you use the Status Monitor, you can confirm the level of the ink supply on your computer screen. 4 How to Use the Status Monitor We recommend that you decide to replace the ink cartridge by checking the both icons in Ink Information and messages in the Status Information.

Printer Maintenance Replacing the Residual Ink Receiver The residual ink receiver collects and holds the ink used during printhead cleaning and other residual ink. When the capacity of the residual ink receiver is nearly full, the Status Monitor displays a message that “Residual ink receiver near full.” You can continue to use the printer, but when the receiver becomes full another message will be displayed that “Residual ink receiver full.”...

Put the full residual ink receiver into a plastic bag and seal it. ● Handle the residual ink receiver carefully when you place it into the plastic bag to prevent staining your clothing or the work area, then discard it in accordance with local laws and regulations regarding the disposal of such items.

Printer Maintenance Reattach the residual ink receiver cover and close it. ● Replace the residual ink receiver quickly. Promptly discard a residual ink receiver that you have removed. Note ● Never shake a full residual ink receiver and never subject them to heavy pressure. Ink can stain clothing and the work area.
Printer Maintenance Cleaning the Printer As the printer is used, ink and paper dust will collect inside the printer. If the interior of the printer becomes dirty, this will cause prints to become dirty or interfere with smooth paper feeding. Clean the printer periodically to keep the printer in optimum working condition. Dampen a clean cloth in a weak solution of water and detergent, wring it out thoroughly, then use it to clean the exterior covers of the printer.
