1. Outlined Software Descriptions The LCD2080UX is a 20.1-inch LCD monitor equipped with two systems of input connectors. INPUT1 is the DVI-I connector that can pick up an input of either the digital signal (TMDS) or the analog signal. INPUT2 is provided with the DVI-D and VGA connectors either of which can be used for the input entry.
2. Circuit Block Descriptions 2.1 Analog Signal Input Circuit 2.1.1 Analog Signal Processor Circuit (Descriptions Only for G ch on the DVI-I Side) The analog video signal input entered in the DVI-I connector is put in the OP AMP of ICA70A through the emitter follower circuit of QA70G.
4) Schmidt power supply changeover circuit The source voltage of the Schmidt inverter consisting of ICAA1 and ICAA2 is controlled by changing over the feedback voltage of ICAA6 with the aid of the SMT 2.7V signal that has been controlled by the MPU. When the sync waveform becomes blunt and a step-state waveform is observed in the vicinity of the threshold level of the Schmidt inverter (FINE noise does not disappear in the picture), the source voltage is changed with the advanced menu to regulate the threshold voltage.

2.6 MPU and Peripheral Circuits 2.6.1 Reset Circuit (1) Resetting of the MPU is effected by IC801. The source voltage is raised from zero volt to 3.3Vdc and the resetting condition of the MPU is canceled after about 34ms after the moment when the potential at IC801 Pin 2 reaches 1.25V.
2.7.4 Auto DVI Selection The two EDIDs of “digital” and “analog” of INPUT1 can be selected by any of the two methods of Auto and Manual. In the AUTO mode, Pin 14 and Pin 16 are short-circuited when the accessory cable is of DSUB-DVIA. In the DVID-DVID mode, on the other hand, DVI selection is automatically carried out, utilizing the fact that Pin 16 is for a high impedance.
2.8 POWER SW Circuit When the front POWER SW is pressed in the state that the vacation SW is turned ON and the LED is unlit, the POW_SW line is turned to the GND level and Q151 is turned on to supply a power of 5Vdc. The power circuit of 5Vdc is connected to the ON/OFF terminal of IC221.
2.9.2 MAIN Power Supply ON/OFF Circuit When the power switch (SW901) is turned on, at fast, the SUB SW.REG converter circuit starts oscillation. And the voltage of secondary output (5VA) is raised to 5V. The Micro-computer on MAIN PWB starts operating, and SW.REG PWB is received “PMS” signal (approx 3V).
2.9.3 Auxiliary Power Supply Circuit The auxiliary power supply circuit is needed to activate IC901. When SW.REG PWB receives “PMS” signal, Q933 and Q908 is turned off with the above-mentioned ON/OFF circuits. The charging current flows into the capacitor C911 through IC901 pin12, IC901 pin1. Oscillation starts when the voltage of IC901 pin1 reaches 17.5V by this charging operation.
2.9.4 MAIN SW.REG Converter Circuit The converter circuit consists of the primary winding of T901, a switching device Q901 and surge absorber (C907,R907 and D907) which are connected to the primary winding of T901. The oscillating signal from IC901 pin2 is applied to the gate of Q901 so that the drain - source is turned ON and OFF.
2.9.5 Output Rectifying and Smoothing Circuit The fly-back voltage which are generated at the secondary windings of T901 are rectified by D951. Then, these voltage are smoothed by C951,C952 and C953 so that DC voltages are obtained. The DC voltage is maintained constantly by controlling the ON period duty cycle of Q901 in the converter circuit.
2.9.7 Over Voltage Protection If some failure occurs and the output voltage of the secondary windings of T901 increase, the voltage of the auxiliary winding of T901 also will increase proportionally. The protection circuit built into IC901 operates when the voltage of 1pin of IC901 rises to about 28V,and Q911 is turn on. Then the voltage of IC901 pin7 reaches over 8.8V and the oscillation is stopped.
Page 143
2.9.9 Power Factor Collector (PFC) Circuit Oscillation starts when the voltage of IC901 pin1 reaches 17.5V by this charging operation. After the start of oscillation, the pulse voltage of auxiliary winding of L9X1 is rectified and smoothed by D9X2, C925, R928 and R926. The resulting DC voltage is supplied to IC901 pin8. The PFC converter circuit consists of the main winding of L9X1 and a switching device in IC901.
2.9.10 SUB Switching Regulator Circuit After the AC power switch (SW901) is turned on, the charging current flows into the capacitor C905 through terminal “C”(control) from “D”(drain) of IC9A1. MOS FET is built in by IC9A1. Oscillation starts when the voltage of C9A4 reaches 5.9V by this charging operation. After the start of oscillation, the voltage of secondary output is raised.
2.9.11 Over Voltage Protection (SUB Switching Regulator) If some failure occurs and the output voltage of the secondary windings of T9A1 increase, the voltage of the auxiliary winding of T9A1 also will increase proportionally. When the voltage of C9A2 increases beyond the zener voltage of ZD9A4, terminal "3"...
