    Getting Started Preparing Your Workstation Preparing Your Workstation You must prepare your workstation before you install new upgrades or remove old components. Here is the procedure for doing this: 1. Determine if you have the correct version of the operating system. Note that your workstation must be running the HP-UX 11.0 operating system and the Workstation Additional Core Enchancements (ACE) for HP-UX 11.0 (November 1999) or HP-UX 11i operating system and the Hardware Enablement Bundle (HWE) for HP-UX 11i (June 2001) to accommodate the PA8700 upgrade.

You can follow the same procedures in reverse to replace or install new accessories or components. Observe the electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions and the prerequisites for removing and replacing components or accessories as discussed in Chapter 1.
