Signification
MD is not loaded correctly.
There is no MD.
You are trying to copy a non-audio disc
like a CD-ROM, Video CD.
You are trying to edit or record on a
playback-only MD.
Digital copy of the 2nd generation is
prohibited.
The room temperature is too low to
record using x4-speed recording.
Signification
All the tracks on the CD have Track
Skip mark.
You are trying to play back a CD which
cannot be played or there is a problem
with the CD.
The CD tray does not open correctly
because of the obstruction.
There is no CD.
The first track on the CD has Track
Skip mark.
You are trying to play back a CD-R/
RW which has not been "finalized."
Signification
There is no digital device connected to
the OPTICAL DIGITAL IN terminal or
no signal comes into the unit from the
connected equipment.

Solution
Eject the MD and re-insert it.
Put an MD.
Stop recording.
Use a recordable MD.
Use the external equipment connected
to the LINE IN jacks (as the recording/
playback device.)
This is not a malfunction. You can
record using x4-speed recording within
5˚C – 35˚C.
Solution
Change the CD.
Change the CD.
Press 0 CD to close the CD tray, then
remove the obstruction.
Put a CD.
Wait for a while until the CD player
finds the track without Track Skip mark.
This is not a malfunction. You can play
back "finalized" CD-R/RWs.
Solution
Connect a digital device using digital
optical cord (see page 8) or start
playback the equipment.
